How to Program a MERCEDES Truck Key

Keys
Some have claimed that you can change the programming of your Mercedes key. It's not true. Once the key is paired, it cannot be used with any other car. The metal beam of the key has a distinct profile that the Mercedes system detects and recognizes. The keys for the truck that are blank are a different shape, and therefore will not function in the system.
The dealer will need to order from Mercedes a new key that is compatible with your vehicle. They do not have them in stock at the parts department. When official source pick your key, you will need the original title, registration number, and a driver’s license, passport or identification card. This will help verify that you are the owner of the vehicle and not someone who is trying to steal it.
If you have an authorized representative or delegate to pick keys for you they must provide all of the above documents as well as the signed and dated proof of authorisation from the owner. The authorized representative or delegate must also bring the car to the dealership to get the keys. If you have any additional questions, call the dealer and they will be more than happy to assist. They will tell you whether they have the key or the Mercedes requires an alternative key that is compatible with the vehicle.
Remotes
In some MERCEDES models the remote key is equipped with touchscreen that shows virtual buttons. When a button is pressed, it sends infrared signals to control devices. A graphic interface program can be used to program the screen. The "buttons" on the screen are actually images that represent the components of electronic circuits. These include resistors, capacitors inductors, potentiometers transistors, diodes integrated circuits, and switches.
If you place your keys in the boot, it can be difficult to get them out of the truck without damaging the door and the Mercedes-Benz lock cylinder. It is possible to use a rope with a slip-knot that you can use to tie the lock and pull it out however, this isn't foolproof. It may be necessary to try several times or even call an emergency locksmith or roadside assistance service to help you open the truck without damage.
The lower case has an opening panel that can be opened to hold the batteries. The panel is a light brown color and is white with writing that indicates the type of batteries that are recommended (UM-4/AAA). The panel also has an Plus and Minus sign indentation that indicates the direction to install the battery spring coils.
Keyless Entry System
Using a technology called passive entry and go, SmartKeys with Keyless Go can allow you to start or unlock your vehicle even when the key isn't inside. The SmartKeys come with an RFID chip that allows the computer in your vehicle to detect a driver by detecting the key's proximity.
The key transmits low-frequency signals which are detected from both the outside and inside the door handles. If the transmission matches the ID on the PASE module (Passive Access and Security Electronics) it is authorized by the system that the key function as a passkey to operate the vehicle.
These systems are intended for "replay attacks," where a hacker could record and replay control signals to gain access to an automobile or building. To prevent this the system uses a special algorithm that ensures that each transmission that is sent by the keyfob will be different from previous ones. The PASE module within the car will be able to detect the attempts of a burglar to record one of these transmissions and then attempt to reuse it.
